Year 2 have been making the most of the beautiful weather whilst combining their learning with some outdoor creativity. The children spent time outside taking part in a draw-along activity inspired by the famous nurse, Florence Nightingale.
As part of their history learning, the children carefully drew Florence Nightingale, her beloved pet owl Athena, and the boat she travelled on to Scutari during the Crimean War. They worked hard to include lots of detail and showed great concentration as they learned more about Florence’s remarkable journey and the important work she carried out to help injured soldiers.
The finished drawings have been proudly displayed on our History Display Board, creating a colourful showcase of the children’s learning and artistic talents. We are very proud of the enthusiasm and effort Year 2 demonstrated while enjoying the sunshine and bringing history to life through art.
