Lunchtimes at Bedgrove Infant School
At Bedgrove Infant we pride ourselves on preparing healthy, home cooked, hot lunches at an affordable price. Our meals are all freshly prepared in our own kitchens using local produce. We pride ourselves on knowing what children like to eat and ensure even the fussiest of eaters leave the lunch hall with full tummies.
Please look at our varied lunch menu
All children in Foundation II and Years 1-2 are eligible for a FREE hot school meal each day. These must be ordered from the menus available we ask parent to choose a meal for each day of the week for week 1, week 2 and week 3 of the menu. These choices will remain the same unless you tell us you wish to change them. If you do not order your meals we will assume that your child will be bringing a packed lunch into school and we will not prepare a meal for them.
We offer a main meal choice, vegetarian alternative or a jacket potato option. We offer homemade bread, water and milk each day also.
We offer a range of freshly baked desserts each day, which are also selected in advance by parents. If no dessert is selected then children will be offered either a piece of fruit or yoghurt.

Allergens
Bedgrove Infant School recognises the importance of managing food allergies. It is critical that specific dietary needs are communicated to the school before an individual is provided with a school meal. We have outlined below all the allergy information. It is the parent’s responsibility when making lunch choices.
You can contact us for a personalised menu or to talk things through on lunches@bedgroveinfant.co.uk
Please use the school’s website to review allergy information, as this is the parent’s responsibility when making lunch choices. Our menu has full allergens and ingredients listed on the website and the menu states which meals are Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy free and Gluten free. If your child has severe allergies or any special requirements regarding food then we encourage personalised menu and meeting with the Kitchen Chef Manager and Lead Midday Supervisor.
Packed Lunch
If you wish to provide a healthy packed lunch please ensure that this does not include fizzy drinks, sweets or excessive amounts of chocolate and remember that we are a nut aware school and we strive to be nut free. We want to teach our children to be healthy and to choose good nutritious food to eat. If you would like any healthy packed lunch ideas or would like your child to try hot school meals alongside their packed lunch please email Lunches@bedgroveinfant.co.uk and Mrs Thorpe will be happy to help.
If you have any questions about lunches please contact the office directly or email us on lunches@bedgroveinfant.co.uk.
Food for other schools
We also offer hot and cold food for other local schools in our community. We love the thought of ensuring as may children as possible have access to a high quality and freshly prepared lunch.
