F2 Explore Family Trees on POW Day

by | Sep 28, 2026 | Celebration, F2, POW Day

As part of today’s POW Day, our F2 (Reception) children have been learning all about their families and the special people in their lives. This exciting activity links closely to our People Curriculum, helping children to develop an understanding of themselves, their families and the wider community around them.

The children enjoyed talking about their family trees and sharing who lives in their home. They spoke confidently about parents, siblings, grandparents and other important family members, celebrating the unique make-up of their own families. Through discussions, drawings and creative activities, the children explored what makes their family special and learned that every family is different.

This valuable learning opportunity encouraged the children to develop their speaking and listening skills, build confidence when sharing personal experiences and strengthen their understanding of relationships and belonging. It was wonderful to see the children taking such pride in talking about the people who care for them and support them every day.

We are incredibly proud of how enthusiastically the children participated and how respectfully they listened to one another’s family stories. What a lovely day of learning, sharing and celebrating the people who matter most to us! 💛🌳👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
