Children across Bedgrove Infant School have been taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, engaging in a range of creative and reflective activities linked to this year’s theme, “This is My Place.” The theme focuses on helping children feel a strong sense of belonging by strengthening the supportive systems and relationships around them.
Children’s Mental Health Week, launched in 2015, aims to amplify the voices of children and young people while raising awareness of their emotional wellbeing. Each February, schools across the country take this opportunity to shine a light on the importance of mental health — and Bedgrove Infant School is proud to be part of this important initiative.
Throughout the week, children created their own Belonging Maps, using photographs from home and a variety of materials to represent the people, places, and moments that help them feel safe, connected, and valued. Our Wellbeing Ambassadors also worked on a special project, designing a Bedgrove Infant School Belonging Map, showcasing the many ways our school community helps everyone feel included. F 1 joined in too, creating their own belonging‑themed work as part of their early learning activities.
A huge thank you to all the children and staff for embracing this meaningful week. At Bedgrove Infant School, fostering a sense of belonging is at the heart of our ethos — ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and Proud to Be Purple.
