A Big-Hearted Success: Celebrating Today’s Mufti Fundraiser

by | Feb 13, 2026 | Donations

Today, our school community came together in the most vibrant and heart‑warming way to celebrate Big Hearted Friday, a national fundraising event created by the wonderful charity Little Hearts Matter. This special day is dedicated to supporting children born with single ventricle heart conditions — complex, lifelong medical challenges that affect families across the UK.

And what a day it has been!

Our classrooms have been filled with bright reds, bold blues and beaming smiles. The response from children, families and staff has been truly overwhelming and we are delighted to say that today’s mufti has been a resounding success.

Why This Day Matters to Us

Big Hearted Friday is particularly close to our hearts because one of our own children, Nyla, lives with a congenital heart defect, including Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Nyla’s courage, positivity and determination remind us every day why raising awareness is so important. Her story inspires us to stand behind families who face similar diagnoses, ensuring they receive the emotional, practical and medical support they need.

Today’s event has given our school the opportunity not only to fundraise, but also to educate, reflect and show solidarity with Nyla and so many other young heart heroes.

Making a Real Difference

Thanks to the generous donations made today, we are able to support the vital work of Little Hearts Matter. The charity relies heavily on events like this to deliver:

  • Emotional support for families navigating a single ventricle diagnosis
  • Practical guidance during hospital stays and surgeries
  • Community resources to help children as they grow and face new challenges

With an estimated 500 families in the UK receiving a single ventricle diagnosis each year, the need for support continues to grow. Every £1 donated today plays a role in helping Little Hearts Matter continue their life‑changing work.

We are thrilled with the level of participation and kindness shown. Whether children donated, dressed up or simply took part in raising awareness, every effort has contributed to a truly meaningful day.

Today we have raised an amazing £443! If you have not yet donated please click here to support this wonderful charity.
